Archive Research: Reading Recall

Question: What is an important clue to better recall of information?

Answer: “Found that readers who were better at identifying important information in text were also better at recalling information.” ME Wetmore, 1983, p. 432.

Comment: One part of me says that this is common sense. Important information is more easily recalled. Another part of me says that this idea can have several possible applications, including summarizing, effective retelling and locating the sources of important information in the text. RayS.
